Good morning guys! Omigosh I miss this space so much.

Hope you’ve all been good. I’m so sorry about going AWOL so long, I seriously underestimated the cons of editing and posting via tab. Yep, my rusty old computer gave up the ghost! (And now I realized how much I love you, you rusty old thaang, please come back!!! Ha.)

Truth is, although I have been taking tons of photos, I am not posting any because I feel they don’t meet my vision. (But please don’t ask me what I’m looking for. I just know I’ll know it when I see it, hehe)

I must say we are enjoying our new place so far. It’s great to have 24/7 electricity for once, and a pool practically in the backyard (although that comes with its own complications. One can’t be too careful with kids). The views are also pretty incredible, especially from the penthouse.

Strangely though, I’ve been hit with a serious case of wanderlust. I mean, yes I’ve always had it, I know, but the urge is particularly strong this time! I just want to pack us and go into the world with no planned destination and get lost or maybe “found” in all the beauty of cultures and nature. You know what I mean? I want to see more, and I want to show it all to my little ones. More than anything, I want them to grow as explorers, open-minded, living life by their own rules. The set formula (especially over here in Ghana) – birth, get an education, get a high paying job, get married, grow old and wait for retirement to enjoy your life – does not have to be your life if you don’t like it. There is so much more. So so much more. So many other ways to live…

Anyways, about the outfit, I’m wearing one of my favorite summer dresses! I combined it with red shoes to emphasize the red roses pattern in the dress, a yellow belt to color block, and gold accessories. What do you think?

I wish you a beautiful May. Stay blessed.

  1. Awesome pics Cara. Loving the floral print! And I feel you on that wanderlust bug. Ever watched the movie “The Holiday” with Kate Winslet and Cameron Diaz? I’ve always felt one of these vacations I should do that kinda switcheroo with a blogger and we trade homes for a while… A girl can dream, right?

    • I haven’t watched the movie, but it sure sounds like something I would love. Switching houses sounds so much fun! Hehe. Would be an interesting experience for sure. Maybe you should make it happen 😉

  2. Adding the canary yellow belt is a nice unexpected twist to the outfit! I totally get your wanderlust point, so far now I’ve spent 3 months living in Naij, its the longest time I’ve spent since being a teenager. And I must admit, its hard for me coz most people you meet do live the life you explained above and I am not close to that life and will never be. And its hard to meet people with an open mind, who still want to explore life in their 30s, still have that curiousity….I even see it in my exercise class- when our instructor is jumping high, making fun moves with his hands, my class which is mostly early 30s and above- water down the movements….Anyhoo, I dont let that stop me! Have a great wkend hon. X

    • Biki!

This comment had me thinking for days… and real scared to grow up. Haha.
It seems the older we get, the more complacent we become. It should be the opposite! This fragile thing we call life, we forget how easy it could be to lose it too.. We are literally sitting on a time bomb… and we have no idea when it goes off. All the more reason to treasure every single moment.
I found it interesting that you think you do not have the life above, I would say you do!!! You are blessed to be able to shuffle between Berlin and Naija the way you do. But I get you. It would be crazy wonderful to wander free, discovering and exploring the earth’s beauty.
It’s important to live the life we do have as fully as we can, so I’m glad you don’t let people’s lackadaisical attitude get to you!

  3. wow!!Have you considered writing??you should!!

now now..I have also contemplated changing my blog’s comment system from disqus, is this one any good?

    • Thanks Rheeyah. Yayyy! Maybe I should 😀
About the comment system, yeah, I like this one especially because I can even comment from my wordpress dashboard. It’s more convenient for me. I do love disqus, but with the speed of internet here, it takes forever to load! haha
