January 22, 2016

So…I’ve been putting off doing this for a while. To be honest, January has not been an entirely peachy month for me. If I’ve ever needed a refresh, this time would be the perfect time for it. (Hey, Cara’s Genie, you listening?) So THANK GOODNESS my year officially starts in February… February 4th to be exact, you know, my birthday.

Last year was the best year of my life. I went from mother of one to mother of two. Double blessings. I felt so blessed and damn lucky almost every day. My spirit and soul were tingling with excitement and inspiration virtually every day and it extended to my outer world. It was fantastic.

My 2015 goals were pretty simple. I narrowed things down to three achievable areas.

  1. Fitness.
  2. Building stronger relationships with my close friends.
  3. Writing everyday.

I worked on them. It took a lot of the three “Ds” – Discipline, Dedication, Determination – but I got there… I think. Ha! Because it’s not about a destination, but a journey. These are things that we constantly have to maintain, right?

This year, my goals are pretty simple. Like Gargamel the Evil Wizard, I’m going for these two simple things.

  1. Limitless power.
  2. World domination.

Pretty basic, right? Mwhahahahaha. (Sorry, just had to. We’ve been on a Smurf binge over here… Alex LOVES the movie.)

OK, so my 2016 goals are as follows!

Actually, it’s more of a theme.

In 2016, I want toΒ let go.Β

To let go of the world’s notions of what I’m supposed to be, what I’m supposed to do, what I’m supposed to want, even what I’m supposed to wear. To let go of how people would think of me and my work, and to create freely, really truly unbridled, from the heart. To create in whatever form that moves my heart, whether it’s writing, photography, story-telling, painting, etc. Just to create, and surround myself with other creators too. Because they are a tremendous source of inspiration.

To let go, and let God. He’s banging at the door asking me to let him out. So I’m letting go, and letting God, without fear.

Without fear, this year, I follow my intuition. Won’t you join me? πŸ™‚

(In another note, so this morning I took these photos, and I realized how far I’ve come in my fitness journey. I’ve been flabbergasted all day!!! haha)

Have a beautiful weekend, everyone. Thank you for reading.

Loads of love,

  1. It’s coincidental I guess that you and I have the same approach to food as well as the same goals for the year. Only letting go was my 2015 goal not my 2016 one.
How has it been coming along for you, anyway?

  2. After study a few of the blogs inside your wbisete now, and that i really like your own approach to running a blog. I bookmarked it in order to my save web site listing and will probably be looking at once again quickly. Please check out my web site because properly as well as let me know what you think.

  3. YES, Stephie, let’s do this!

Haha not entirely, but genes sure play a factor, no? Though it looks like the rest of my family didn’t get the memo. *wink*

  4. Nice piece! And yes, I love the theme of letting go. Something I’m still working on myself. Oh hey, are you going to share your fitness tips? Because something tells me you didn’t get here by bollywood dancing only πŸ™‚

  5. Hi Lady,

Ah! You are oppressing me with all of this perfection. πŸ™‚

All I see is flat abs and toned glutes, did two kiddies really grow inside that belly? You look hot! Yummy Mummy. Well done dear. I am so inspired to work harder at healthy living this year. Do share your fitness regimen, thank you.

Very meaningful message. Yes, I’ve learned that letting go and letting God is the way to achieve peace of mind. It’s wise to allow God take full control, he does everything better than we’ll ever dream of doing.

    Have a super nice weekend.

    1. There she goes, making my day with her succulent comments again! πŸ˜€ Thanks so much, Nedu.
      Fitness regimen coming right up!
Hope you had a good one!
