“It’s a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don’t keep your feet, there’s no knowing where you might be swept off to.”

― J.R.R. TolkienThe Lord of the Rings

Hey y’all!

Sooo happy 2015!! Or is it already too late to say so? What with my son turning one month old (one month!!!!) and we being already halfway through January, things have been quite thoughtful, with lots of thanksgiving, on my end.

How has it been going with the new year resolutions to lose weight, learn a new language, create a new you, etc? If you’ve stayed the path and have been working hard towards those goals, then kudos!

For the rest of us doing otherwise…

This is the time when you start to get a strange feeling in the stomach and a voice in your head. whispering to you that perhaps nothing has changed. Perhaps this year is going to be just like the previous years, perhaps nothing will ever change.

Stay strong! It’s not over until it’s over. It’s not too late at all. Start working on those goals, today, in fact, now! Let’s encourage each other, take each other by the hand and ride the year together.

There is hope for us yet, I can feel it! 2015 will be our year, but we have to that dangerous really uncomfortable thing and step out the door… Out the door, out of our comfort zones, out unto the road…

New year, new beginnings, right? I promised that it only gets better around here and I’ve been working on that. For a long time I’ve wanted to post on some of my interests – fashion, interior design, beauty – but I’ve felt a certain dissonance in doing it here. It just didn’t jam with me for some reason. (It’s my propensity for organization, I bet!) This space is sorely dedicated to writing.

Soooo, I created another blog!! Yep, another one (M says I create blogs like the way other ladies go shopping! lol). This new one is sorely dedicated to these other (girly) passions of mine. Introducing,

The Style Recluse www.xocara.com !!!!!

If you haven’t already, go on over and check it out! Let’s explore beautiful photography, style and learn make-up secrets together in a vibrant positive space. I look forward to connecting with you over there if those are your interests too! <3

2015 is our year. Let’s rock it!

“She Let Go”

Hey loves! Read this recently and loved it. Hope it blesses you too! <3

“She let go. Without a thought or a word, she let go.

She let go of the fear. She let go of the judgments. She let go of the confluence of opinions swarming around her head. She let go of the committee of indecision within her. She let go of all the ‘right’ reasons. Wholly and completely, without hesitation or worry, she just let go.

She didn’t ask anyone for advice. She didn’t read a book on how to let go. She didn’t search the scriptures. She just let go. She let go of all of the memories that held her back. She let go of all of the anxiety that kept her from moving forward. She let go of the planning and all of the calculations about how to do it just right.

She didn’t promise to let go. She didn’t journal about it. She didn’t write the projected date in her Day-Timer. She made no public announcement and put no ad in the paper. She didn’t check the weather report or read her daily horoscope. She just let go.

She didn’t analyze whether she should let go. She didn’t call her friends to discuss the matter. She didn’t do a five-step Spiritual Mind Treatment. She didn’t call the prayer line. She didn’t utter one word. She just let go.

No one was around when it happened. There was no applause or congratulations. No one thanked her or praised her. No one noticed a thing. Like a leaf falling from a tree, she just let go.

There was no effort. There was no struggle. It wasn’t good and it wasn’t bad. It was what it was, and it is just that.

In the space of letting go, she let it all be. A small smile came over her face. A light breeze blew through her. And the sun and the moon shone forevermore.” – author unknown
