Good morning, everyone, happy Monday!
Technically, I should be sleeping, because in about 6 hours from now, those two boys in my life will be up and running like clockwork.
Guess who FINALLY got her hands on an Adichie Chimamanda book??! Only I chose to go with Half of A Yellow Sun instead of Americanah, after hours of mulling it over at the bookstore, and now the initial joy is tinged with regret. Why? Because I cannot BEAR sad tales. Gruesome images. Sad endings. I simply can’t. Ugh. But I do want to read the book… hmmm… we’ll see how it goes!
As my days settle into a routine of drop offs, pick ups and interacting with Alexander’s school officials, it is getting easier to start off my day(and continue it) looking (and feeling) my best. My wardrobe is slowly but surely transitioning from its mostly casual vibe to more semi-official structured looks. And guess what? I even finally purchased my very first pencil skirt!!! (Yeah, never liked those, because they made me feel like a broomstick… Hmph.)
Today’s look is a polka dot dress that masquerades as a skirt and top. Yes, it’s a dress and not two pieces like it appears to be. I accessorised with my Ankara choker necklace for a dash of colour to the otherwise dark ensemble. I find myself always incorporating Ankara accessories into my every day outfits; I truly love how the looks turn out. In this case, they soften the leather rock chic vibe, hmm?
Hope you like the new hair! Wanted to change things up a little and give the afro a break. Still getting used to this hair though. Been a while since I had this style. What do you think?
