I’m barefoot in the snow.

I’m running down the dark street, hand in hand with M.

It’s quiet and eerie, except for the lone barking of the neighbour’s dog yapping at us from behind the faerie lights.

Our footfalls are soft and muffled on the snow, and our laughter rings out into the night, light and easy and free.

Two young souls dizzy with laughter and happiness.

With love.

Then we turn the corner to the right and race down hard, foot stomping, dog barking.

“Back, back, again!”

We turn to the left and race down the snow-laden street

freshly fallen snow deliciously cold and mushy.

“Let’s dance!”

M grabs me waltzes and spins me round and round till I’m dizzy and clutching him and all I see is the whir of snow and the flash of his eyes, blue tonight.

Then a mad dash for the friendly light and warmth of the house.

It’s almost ten pm and I’m back in the snow.

It’s a challenge. How long can we last?

Twenty minutes in these conditions and the heart will stop beating.

I go as long as I can, barefoot on the snow. Wearing two sweaters from M’s mom and corduroy flares from my mom. I’m leaping and skipping and dancing with delight, warding away the cold. Then I’m running and running in the cold dark street; looking for me.

“Too long, Karolinka, let’s go in!”

And it’s true. I feel the cold snaking through me, heading towards my leaping skipping heart. My palms and feet are chilly and stiff with cold. But it’s alright, it’s okay.

I’ve found me.

HAPPY 2016!!

Hey darlings!

Another week beginning… we groan and complain every Morning, bemoaning the fact that it’s the start of a new working week, but today, I want us to start it in bliss. Yes it’s Monday, but heck, it’s the start of a new week where we are ALIVE. Where we have our families and loved ones ALIVE. Where we have a phone or computer to even see this. We are privileged and blessed.

As you know from this post, I’m reading Barbara Winter’s book. It has really rekindled something in me, and I’ve been wondering if perhaps I’m doing the right thing, postponing some of my dreams… As you know, performing is my first love. This year I resolved to live moment by moment, with no plans towards the future at all, but to simply let myself be fully immersed in life, living it moment by moment. No worrying about tomorrow and what it might bring, just to live in the now. I also resolved for some reason, don’t ask me why, to chase my dream of acting only after I’m thirty… Weird, I know, for someone who wants to live life fully to the point where every single talent I’ve been given has been used and polished until I have no more to give… thoroughly emptied up. 🙂

Now I’m really wondering about the logic of that resolve… is it really for the best to wait till I’m thirty? Or shall I simply go for it right now… I wonder…At the same time, something tells me the time is not right. My instinct, if you will… I shall trust the process. Let His will be done…always.

So tell me, if I ever get to be in a movie, what role do you envision me in?? 😀

Our last day in Prague found me scouring the shops, M and the kids in tow, and me thoroughly determined to acquire a momento, my own little piece from Prague which says yes, I’ve been here! Have you ever tried shopping with your significant other? Add a rampaging toddler and a cranky baby to the mix and it’s not just exasperating, it’s flat out nightmarish! Ok maybe I exagerate a bit…

BUT still…

It’s a testament to my high levels of frustration that when M finally suggested that that momento could be a bikini, of all transient things, I grasped at the chance to flee the shop.

We ended up in Decathlon, where the boys had fun in the huge cemented alleys testing out scooters and bicycles; and I ended up with this bikini and two sport bras (which cost MORE than the scooter that was picked out for little Alexander in the end.) Decathlon is a really fun concept of a shop; spacious (huge really), big lanes with cemented floors for testing gear out. It’s a one stop shop for all items sports related; from skis for skiing to swimwear to jogging wear to biking…etc. In short, a haven for the boys!

This Saturday I mustered up courage to wear it, with beautiful white shorts a couple of sizes too big from Lidl (Slovakia), broken sunnies (from Togo) I had fixed, and nails I had painted a bright pinkish red the night before; feeling that hey, today, forget body issues. Today you are alive, your family is alive and well, you are young; who knows what tomorrow might bring or take away, today you celebrate!

So tell me, what do you dream of? Remember, we are fearfully and wonderfully made; and limitless, in the image of our Creator!

Ciao, my dears, thanks for reading!

Love and light,

Good morning fam!

Hope y’all been peachy? Meant to update thrice this week, but I’ve been a little umm, snotty-nosed over here. Eeek. I hardly get sick, so this was quite the wake up call. You know that feeling that you need a vacation to recover from your vacation?? Yeah that.

I need a vacation!

There is something quite preppy and cute about pairing a crop top with a skater skirt and I decided to explore that while in Topolcany… To complete my vision, out came these dashing killer pumps to add an extra punch!

So, preppy, anyone?

But seriously, those shoes, together with the crop top and cute skirt create such a geek chic vibe, don’t they? Especially with my glasses. (Which I actually forgot to take off, btw.) Add the roses, the idyllic surroundings, and romance is in the air. Just puurfect.

This house has the most beautiful rose garden I have ever seen! They have the roses in almost all colors possible. So awesome. I wanted permission to shoot with the roses, so I rang the doorbell, half expecting The Beast to show up, perhaps with Bella in tow, but a lady and her two grown up kids showed up instead. Bummer.

Buuut, at the end of a nice chat, I left them with happy laughter, some nice photos, and a gift of strawberries and best of all, roses of my very own! Kind souls.

To be fair, after I saw these images, I started wolfing down triple helpings of every meal set in front of me with nary a protesting word. The in-laws were ecstatic and declared me a proper Slovak now, but I knew better. It was #OperationThickThighs.

Must. Gain. Twenty. Pounds.

But dear fat, would you please be a sweetheart and settle only in the thighs and butt region? Thank you!

Crop top – MrP, Skirt – MrP, Crossbody bag – C&A, Shoes – Legon

The shoes seriously deserve their own post so that will be coming up next week!

Thanks for reading, stay cool.

It’s Friday already, can you believe that??! And they tell me it’s already July too! Lost track of time for a while there. If I had a dollar for every time I do that, bet you I’d have bought my dream house(with glass walls) in the mountains already! Like we were on the beach on 1st July, and I spent the entire day lost in the illusion that it was Sunday! Don’t blame me – too much – because aren’t Sundays the official beach days?? Well, in my part of the world they are. Because they are days to commune with creation and His Awesomeness, right?

Anyway, today I am absolutely delighted to present to you the full reveal from the sneak peek last time, and I present to youuu the Dashiki! (Linet, you must be grinning to yourself because you guessed right. Hmph! )

The Dashiki – vibrant, colourful, dramatic. A beautiful piece from African fashion.

I fell head over heels for this babe at first sight, and it’s been a beautiful love story ever since. I usually like to wear it as a standalone piece with minimal accessories, but chose to pair it with black distressed denim (of which I seem to have an endless number).

Check out the wings on the dress already! Batman, anybody?

Also, can we talk about those pointy wedgey strappy shoes?? I’m. In. Love.

Something about this dress always brings out the bohemian goofy side of me, oops.

Fotor_143588073009696 And what’s with all that intensity here? Smh. 😛

And the end.

Make sure to check out the previous magical sneak peek shots with M (from the previous post) if you didn’t already!

Thanks for reading, lots of love and positivity to you. Happy new month!

Stop over in Rajec after a road trip to the mountains. This is a garden in Rajec.

The Secret Garden.

Lake Of Shining Waters.

Just another beautiful Slovak park!

I was in breathless awe the whole time we were here, gasping at all the fresh beauty of this place, completely blown away.

Slovakia just blows me away with all its rolling hills and mountains, green meadows and fresh gardens. Simply breathtaking. I just wanted to kick myself for not having my good camera with me. Anyways, hope you still enjoy these photos!

Have a blessed week.

*Sorry, had to repost this after it mysteriously vanished from here.*
